Mocha

What can one say about a dog like Mocha, other than she is more than just a special set of spots!  Mocha has one of the most successful show careers one could have ever imagined.

It all started with a day at the Mt. Hood Dal specialty in 1997, where Mocha was Best of Winners & Best of Opposite under judge James (Jim) W. Smith of North Collins, NY.  Several months later, I attended DCA (Dalmatian Club Of America)in Detroit and I took Jim the photo of the win from Mt. Hood.  At that specialty Jim mentioned how much he liked Mocha and if I might be interested in leasing her to him so she could be shown more extensively (campaigned).  It took me over 6 months to "think" about it

Mocha has become the Top Specialty winning bitch in the history of the breed: with 19 (as of 9-04) specialty Bests of Breed including the National Specialty in 2002, she has won four All-Breed Bests in Show, was Best of Opposite at DCA three times and Best of Opposite at Westminster four times.  At 7 1/2 Mocha was Best of Breed at the 2003 AKC National Championship show.  She is now retired from serious campaigning, but may make the occasional ring appearance.
Mocha is not one to stay out of the spotlight however!   She is now working on her agility titles and completed her Canadian NA in July 2003 and her AKC NA & NAJ in November 2003 and her OA in October 2004.  Now we are working on the Open class titles.

Mocha's last litter was to Ch Satin's Clown'n Around CDX CGC, "Jester" (who is the sire of over 65 champions, to date).   If you'd like to see a little more of Jester, visit his page - http://www.geocities.com/jesterdog/Jester.html.  Just close the window when your ready to return to this page.
